TDS Racing enters LM P3 category with the new Norma M30Published on: 11 July 2016 LMP3
French team TDS Racing has an eleven-year experience in motorsports and endurance racing, and the team has decided to enter the LM P3 category. Xavier Combet and Jacques Morello, co-owners of TDS Racing, will add an additional dimension to their activities, giving a new turn to the South of France based team.
In fact, TDS Racing will enter the new Norbert Santos Norma M30 in the LM P3 category as soon as next October for the start of 2016/2017 Asian Le Mans Series season. In parallel to the existing LM P2 programme, they will also enter LMP3 in 2017 European Le Mans Series.
French manufacturer Norma Auto Concept, known for its CN Prototypes, has an impressive record in motorsports with 70 national and international titles, three 24 Hours of Le Mans entries, and has just proven its greatness again by winning for the second time the famous Pikes Peak race in the United States with Romain Dumas. Beside these numerous titles, Norma is also the French manufacturer that has sold the greatest number of race cars. Discreet, efficient and meticulous, Norbert Santos, owner of Norma Auto Concept, is very enthusiastic in working with TDS Racing.
TDS Racing has been in endurance racing for the last six seasons, and on the team’s record one can see two European ELMS titles (LM P2/2012, GTC /2015), a great number of race wins on international circuits (Austria, Italy, Great-Britain, Portugal in ELMS), as well as 2012 “Petit Le Mans” in the US. In 2013 and 2015 TDS Racing was also ELMS LM P2 vice champion and earned two second LM P2 place finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2012 and 2014.
French team now goes forward by entering the first step on the prototype endurance ladder, and will share all its discipline experience with drivers, whether they are beginners, gentlemen or experimented drivers.
Xavier Combet : “We decided to enter Norma M30s and are delighted to work alongside Norbert Santos on the new LM P3 project. We strongly believe that with the Norma M30, competitiveness will be in our hands. Our objective is to train drivers and to prepare cars to win races, as we have done in the past in different motorsport disciplines such as World Series by Renault or GT3. We will start this new programme in Asia this coming winter (AsLMS) and go on in the 2017 ELMS. We want to create a true driver training pyramid to help them succeed at the highest level of endurance racing.”
Our six-year experience in endurance and our know-how in LM P2 will certainly be an advantage in this new adventure, and surely will contribute to help us to perform well in this new growing category.
